Callies 6.125
Callies 6.125" LS1 Comp Star Connecting Rods
Callies CompStar Connecting Rods, 6.125" length, 2.100" crank pin, .927 wrist pin, LS1/LS6 (Includes ARP 2000 Series Connecting Rod Bolts).
Designed and Produced with Engineering and Finishing advancements, CompStar connecting rods have what it takes to make your engine build trouble free and your finished product reliable. Produced from heat treated and stress relieved 4340 material, CompStar rods are fully machined with a shot blasted Stress Riser free surface. Every detail of this highly stressed component has been carefully analyzed to maximize repeatability and dependability. See for yourself why CompStar can improve your bottom line and reputation.

· PARTING SURFACE EDGE CHAMFERED
This is normally done by the engine builder to prevent scraping material from the backside of the bearing insert during installation of the bearing into the rod.

· BEARING TAB SLOT FREE OF BURRS
Many competitor's rods share a common issue of burrs left in the bearing tab slot during manufacturing. In this situation, the burr prohibits the bearing locator tab from fitting into the receiver slot in the rod.

· PIN BUSHING CHAMFERED BEFORE HONING
Another common problem is a burr on one, or both ends of the wristpin bushing. This occurs when the manufacturer trims, or chamfers the bushing after honing to finished size. In this case, the pin either won't slide into the bushing, will slide into one side, but won't pass through the other, or fits tightly in the bushing, as if it has insufficient clearance.

· ARP 2000 SERIES BOLTS
The ARP 2000 bolt is an upgrade from the typical 8740 material used in most rods of this type. Use of this bolt increases clamping force between the rod and cap by approximately 2000 psi.

· RE-TORQUE DURING MANUFACTURING
During manufacture, CompStar rods are initially torqued and rough honed. The bolts are removed, and the rod & cap are then separated allowing the release of residual stress. The rods are then reassembled and re-torqued for final honing. This assures that the rod will still be round when you install it in an engine.

· LESS PREP TIME
By incorporating the above features into CompStar rods, the end user is saved a minimum of an hour of his valuable time. Few things can be more annoying than to unpackage a product for use, only to find that it's not really ready for use. Callies' goal is to produce a rod that's ready for assembly right out of the box.

· SUPERIOR QUALITY CONTROL
Finish honing is done on a state of the art Sunnen Krossgrinder. Tolerance is less than .0002" maximum out of round, taper, hourglass, or barrel shape. The bearing housing surface finish typically has an RA of 9-13.

Callies Compstar 4.000
Callies Compstar 4.000" Crankshaft LS1

LSX engines are taking the performance market by storm. To answer the needs of engine builders who are testing new limits, Compstar has developed the widest range of LSX crankshafts available anywhere. Regardless if your application is road race, marine, circle track, or street/strip, Compstar has the configuration you need.

Made from 4340 steel that is deep nitrided for strength and wearability, every Compstar crank is intended for high output installation. Compstar LSX crankshafts are counterweighted for enhanced bearing load distribution, which allows these shafts to withstand both high boost and high RPM applications.

Machined with large journal radii, gun drilled mains, and fully lightened rod journals, the Compstar LSX crankshaft is truly built for performance. For tall deck block engine builds, strokes up to 4.250 inch can be specified to create large, reliable CID. Should you wish to reduce rod journal surface speed, 2.000 inch journal diameters are available.

To accommodate your engine control system, Compstar LSX shafts can be specified with either late LS2 – LS7 58 tooth or the early LS1 – LS6 style twin timing wheels. If you are building a dry sump LS7 style engine, Compstar offers an extended length post to easily complete your project.

Compstar LSX cranks are sold rough balanced to 1750 grams, or finish balanced to your bob weight.

Callies DragonSlayer 4.000
Callies DragonSlayer 4.000" Crankshaft LS1

DragonSlayer crankshafts are made in the U.S.A. for American Racers. With an expanded line of part numbers, the DragonSlayer is rapidly setting the standard by which other Sportsman crankshafts are measured.

These shafts are machined to the tolerances demanded by today’s high performance engine builder. Roundness and taper are held to less than .0003 on all rod and main journal diameters. Our final polishing procedures produce excellent load carrying surfaces that ensure extended bearing life and trouble free operation.

Each DragonSlayer features the Callies Ultra-Case nitride treatment. This heat treatment method produces a deep case that enhances strength while creating an extremely hard load bearing wear surface. The Ultra-Case process generates a layer of hardened steel deep enough to maintain its integrity even after a -.010 regrind.

Callies heat treat expertise combined with our high purity premium 4340 forging produce strength of unparalleled value. All DragonSlayers are produced with standard Chevy rod journal diameters and widths for SBC, BBC, LS1, and Mopar applications.
